How do I find a receipt if I only have the receipt ID?

A receipt ID is the code at the end of a receipt link, and it is everything you need. You do not need an account, the sender's name, or the original chat. Put the ID in the right place and the record opens.

See it live: generate a real verifiable receipt in 30 seconds, no signup.

Run your first job now, no signup

Fastest path: open zambo.dev/chat and ask for a live BTC price. It runs a real tool call and hands you a verifiable receipt, no account, no install.

In Claude Code, one line adds the endpoint:

claude mcp add --transport http zambo https://zambo.dev/mcp

Then ask your agent: "What is the live BTC price?" The answer comes back with a receipt link. Cursor and VS Code take the same URL in their MCP settings.

What a receipt ID looks like

A full receipt link looks like this: https://zambo.dev/run/ccb2ac0f-2998-49fe-9cc1-d766f789e028. The ID is the part after /run/: ccb2ac0f-2998-49fe-9cc1-d766f789e028. That ID is the key to the saved record. It identifies one saved result: the tool that ran, the time it ran, and the result as it was saved, bound together by a SHA-256 commitment anyone can recompute.

Two ways to use the ID

  1. Read the record. Open https://zambo.dev/run/your-id-here in any browser. No account, no signup. The page shows the tool, the UTC timestamp, the saved result, and the receipt's fingerprint.
  2. Check the fingerprint. Open zambo.dev/verify, paste the ID into the receipt-id field, and run the check. A match means the saved result was not changed since it was saved. That is the whole verification: open, recompute, compare.

A real one, worked through

Take this live receipt, minted on 23 October 2026 for a live_price call: BTC at $81,632.00 USD, up 0.21% over 24 hours, market cap $1640.85B, feed CoinGecko, time 2026-10-23T16:36:58 UTC. Its ID is ccb2ac0f-2998-49fe-9cc1-d766f789e028. Open the record at zambo.dev/run/ccb2ac0f-2998-49fe-9cc1-d766f789e028: you will see the tool name, the exact saved text, and the SHA-256 commitment. Then paste the ID at zambo.dev/verify and check it. The check compares the fingerprint on record with a fresh recomputation. A match is the proof of the saved result, not of the price: the record proves the saved result was not changed since it was saved.

If you only have part of an ID

Receipt pages display a short form of the ID (the first 8 characters) as a label, but the full ID is what opens the record. If someone sent you only the short form, ask them for the link or the full ID; a fragment alone cannot resolve. If you ran the call yourself, the full ID is in your connection's Today view, which lists the day's calls in order, and in the reply text of the call that produced it.

Honest limits

  • The record proves what was saved, not that it was right. A checked receipt on a wrong price is still a wrong price. Check the result itself.
  • No ID, no record. If a job was run without receipts, there is nothing to find later. The fix is forward-looking: run through a connection that receipts every call.

Questions, answered

How do I find a receipt if I only have the receipt ID?

Open https://zambo.dev/run/ in a browser to read the record, or paste the ID into the receipt-id field at https://zambo.dev/verify/ to check its fingerprint. No account or signup is needed for either step.

Where is the receipt ID?

The receipt ID is the code at the end of the receipt link, after /run/. It is also shown in the reply text of the tool call that produced it and in your connection's Today view, which lists the day's calls in order.

What does the verify check actually prove?

A matching fingerprint proves the saved result was not changed since it was saved. It does not prove the result itself was correct, so check the result the way you would check any work.

Proof works best when it travels with the work itself. The AER-1 badge kit turns verifiable receipts into an embeddable badge for project pages, docs, and profiles, so anyone who sees the claim can reach the check in one click.
